Kissa Hamshakal Ka

21st September 2010, Delhi

Kehte hain duniya main har kisi ki shakal kisi na kisi se to milti hi hai

Usne yeh baat kaafi baar suni thi par kabhi maana nahin tha aur na hi ispe dhyaan diya tha

He used to believe in the uniqueness of human beings

He liked how every person is unique in himself or herself

He never used to judge a person or classify a person’s traits based on how he or she looked or how much they looked like a person he already knew

And so one day he met this beautiful girl. But he didn’t judge her as nice on how she looked. She just was and he just looked at her.

But she was a beautiful girl and he just couldn’t stop himself from looking at her beauty. Admiring her beauty. Comparing her to the beautiful women he knew. But there was a nagging feeling in his mind that he knew her from somewhere. It was just on the tip of his toungue, on the edge of his mind, just within his grasp……

And then he realized

She looked just like a female version of his best friend

A guy who was his chuddi buddy…… literally

His mind said "WTF" and stopped

then he remembered the saying he should never have forgotten

“duniya main har kisi ki shakal kisi na kisi se to milti hi hai”

Still in a mind numbing daze, he concluded

“I used to like you, but you look too much like one of my best friend”
